Name That Tune
My cousin is pregnant too and on her registry they had these Rockabye Baby Lullaby Rendition CD's on their wish list, so I went home to check them out and I pretty much want every CD! They're CD's by some of the greatest artists and their most popular songs; but they're done in the sounds of an instrumental lullaby. They have greats like: The Beatles, Aerosmith, No Doubt, Cold Play, Bob Marley, The Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, Kanye West, Bon Jovi, Elvis Presley, Guns N Roses, and SOOOOOO many more. They just released a Madonna version! To see more go here
Here's a sample from Madonna's CD.... can you name that tune?

A Tribe Called Quest Documentary
Last night I was fortunate to see the new documentary "Beats, Rhymes, & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest" at Tempe Marketplace. The reason I say I was fortunate enough is because well although Arizona is considered a top ten major city to live in, it's not technically known for its hip hop scene so when I found out a few months ago that Arizona would be screening the documentary, I bought the tickets as soon as I could.
This film is directed by comedian/actor, Michael Rappaport who is a huge hip hop lover and this documentary is his love letter to A Tribe Called Quest. I must say despite the controversy and animosity that was built up behind the scenes regarding it, I thought the documentary was very well done. The controversy started because Tribe wanted creative control over the film, but being as it's a documentary, Rappaport said it wasn't a good idea. Q-Tip felt that the documentary focused too much on the beef between he and group member, Phife and not on what Tribe did musically for the past 20 years. However, I don't agree with Tip, I mean, we want to see the rise, fall, and rise again of this legendary hip hop group. We want to see the truth and not just the sugarcoated side of it.
The documentary was entertaining, funny, full of hip hip history, and even tore at your heart strings a little at times. There was special guest appearances by the Beastie Boys, Common, Pharrell (yum), De La Soul, ?uestlove, and more.
To check if it's coming to a city near you, click here! Don't sleep on this film!

SATC Prequel???
Rumor has it (although no contracts have been signed) that they may be coming out with a Sex and the City prequel which would follow Carrie, Samantha, Miranda, and Charlotte through their teens into their twenties, based on author Candace Bushnell's novels "The Carrie Diaries" (which I have and can't seem to get through because it is a yawn fest) and "Summer and the City."
The rumored cast includes Blake Lively as Samantha, Selena Gomez as Charlotte, Emma Roberts as Mirands, and Carrie's role would go to Elizabeth Olsen, the younger sister of Mary Kate and Ashley.
This is solely my opinion but don't eff with Carrie Bradshaw and the girls with this nonsense movie. Ugh. I hope this is all just a rumor!
Would you go see it?

Bath & Body Works Halloween Preview
I went on a shopping spree today and went into Bath and Body Works and saw their new Halloween line. Fall is my most FAVORITE season; just think of the scents (pumpkin, spice, and everything nice), the food, the weather, the holiday's.....I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Anyway, back to the new halloween line, I fell in love with EVERYTHING and I can't wait to get paid again so I can go. LOL. Here's a few of the things I can't wait to get. Go here to check out the rest of their new halloween items.
Watch The Throne Documentary
I have a love/hate relationship with Kanye West, but I can't deny the man is a musical genius, and pair him up with one of my favorite emcee's ever, Jay-Z, and you have yourself a dynamic duo that nobody can touch. With the release of their highly anticipated collaborative album entitled, "Watch the Throne" out August 1st, check the mini-documentary featuring interviews and behind-the-scene footage of their creative process.
R.I.P, Amy Winehouse
Although we don't know the cause of her death just quite yet, it's hard to deny Amy's battle with drugs. Over the last few years, we've all witnessed her bizarre behavior and so we all speculate drugs were the cause of her death. Regardless if this is the case or not, I wish Amy peace now; as the daughter of a heroin addicted mother, I understand the disease Amy had and wish her family peace and comfort at this time.

Sally Hansen Complete Manicure
Now that I'm pregnant, let me just tell you, I am in NO mood to sit around for 45 minutes doing my nails, so when I saw a commercial for the Sally Hansen complete manicure nail polish, I couldn't wait to run out and buy some. I found some on sale at Target this past weekend, and fell in love!
Pros:
- There's 5 steps in one bottle: base coat, strengthener, growth treatment, color, top coat.
- It has Vita-Care technology for advanced wear, more shine, and nourishing care. I put the color on Sunday night and it's now Friday evening and it's still on with no touch-ups needed and what's even better, NO CHIPS!
- They have 42 salon inspired shades and are conveniently for sell at all major drug stores. The price ranges from $4-$6
Cons:
- The brush is a little awkward but once you get used to it, it's easy peasy.
Here's the color I got - Model Behavior
Baby On Board
Some of you have hit me up saying I've been M.I.A lately and well I have a good excuse! I'm pregnant with my first child. I am beyond excites, thrilled, blessed, and very very much scared. Now that I am out of my first trimester I should be able to post more often..... if I can stop being lazy. LOL. I know a few of you have kids, any advice?

Gwen Stefani Launching Children's Line!
I'm sooo excited. Gwen Stefani is teaming with our favorite store Target to bring major fashion to tots. She will be launching a children’s clothing line called Harajuku Mini at Target stores and Target.com starting November 13.
“Harajuku Mini is a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to do a cool children’s fashion line inspired by the super cute and playful kids clothing you find in Japan. The whole idea is about being creative, expressing your own individuality and having fun getting dressed,” said Stefani. “Target has given me the creative freedom to design kid’s clothing that is different than most anything you usually see out there with great quality, attention to detail and most of all, available at amazing prices.”
As the name indicates, Harajuku Mini for Target will feature Japanese-inspired fashion forward designs priced from $3.99 to $29.99. The line is described as “Japanese street-style and infused with a Pop Art aesthetic”.

Way to Go, New York!
The New York state Senate voted in favor of same-sex legislation on Friday by a vote of 33-29. Governor Andrew Cuomo is expected to sign it into law soon and should go into effect 30 days later, meaning same-sex couples could begin marrying in NY by midsummer!
New York now joins Connecticut, Iowa, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the District of Columbia.
What state will follow next??? Perhaps a state on the West Coast???
Equality for all!
Jessica Biel and Pharrell Williams
Check out Jessica Biels new commercial for Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara. The actress stars opposite another baby daddy of mine, Pharrell Williams (who also wrote and produced the music in the ad). Damn you, Jessica - you're so lucky! Love the song and commercial by the way (yes it's only because Pharrell is in it)

Reversible Jeans... Would You?
Ever wish you could just turn your jeans inside out and get some extra mileage out of them before laundry day? L.A.-based denim label Bleulab is giving wearers that option with reversible jeans that flip
Founder and designer Carl Jones (he started Cross Colors back in 1989) uses double-sided fabric, sewn in pockets and two-way zippers and button closures to create pants that don’t actually look like you’re, well, wearing them inside out. Each pair is treated with a different wash, so one side might be a charcoal gray and the other a wax-coated black.
There are 20 color combinations in the line and four pant styles including a boot cut, skinny, wide leg and legging. Jones has also included a zip-up hoodie that’s black on one side, gray on the other and denim jackets that reverse to reveal a metallic side that’s flashier than the more subdued, standard blue side.
It’s an interesting concept that could provide more wardrobe choices, possibly less laundry (though ideally that wouldn’t be the case) and only slightly less obvious walks of shame.
Bleulab jeans range from $174 to $216 and are sold at Neiman Marcus Cusp and singer22.com

Jlo Was a Backup Dancer for NKOTB?!?!?
I absolutely LOVED New Kids On The Block growing up... I swear I was going to marry Joey when I got older. And then Mrs. Jenny from the Block was my ideal throughout my 20's... I idolized that girl...I was pretty much a stalker. And come to find out, she was a backup dancer for NKOTB... hahahahaha. Loves it

Victoria & David Beckham look AMAZING!
Exquisite doesn't even cut it with these too. David and Victoria the incredibly good-looking couple did not miss a beat as they attended the Royal Wedding. David dawned a Ralph Lauren three-piece suit with his hair slicked back as pregnant wife, Victoria looked amazing in a roomy navy dress from her fall 2011 collection. Like the rest of the ladies in attendance, she wore a spectacular headdress by Phillip Treacy on her forehead and carrying a V.B. clutch all while doing it in a pair of six-inch Louboutins.
I love this pic of David putting his hand on Victoria's growing baby bump! Adorbs

A Tribe Called Quest Documentary
Tonight, New York audiences get a chance to screen the new Michael Rappaport-directed, A Tribe Called Quest documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, but Billboard has just revealed that a nice chunk of the country is also going to get to see the film – which our own Winston Robbins declared as the “best film at Sundance” – for themselves in just a few weeks.
Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest will be screened for the general public in New York and Los Angeles on July 8th and is set to receive rolling releases over the following weeks in markets like San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, and Atlanta.
Over 34 cities are included in the itinerary, which spreads the film as far west as Hawaii, as far north as Washington State, and all the way South to Miami, Florida. The last round of releases happens on August 12th when the film is slated to hit municipalities like San Antonio, New Orleans, and Kansas City.
Despite a band-issued statement supporting the release of the film when it debuted at Sundance months ago, much has still been made about Q-Tip’s gripes with the documentary, and even Rappaport has admitted to being a bit rattled by some of the negativity surrounding the release. “I expected to fight the finances, the studios, even the subjects a bit, but I didn’t know how bloody it would get,” he told Rolling Stone earlier this week. The 41-year-old comic actor turned director added that the band hasn’t seen the final cut with an audience yet and that he hopes that they will see the overall positive depiction of the band that he’s attempted to convey on screen. “It’s my love letter to them,” he said. “I hope we get past all this.”
See how lovey-dovey it really is at one of the releases listed below. Tickets to see tonight’s (and tomorrow’s) screening at the Tribeca Film Festival can be had here.

Beyonce's Move Your Body Music Video
Going beyond the call of duty, Beyonce has re-written her 2007 hit "Get Me Bodied" into a kid-friendly "Move Your Body" mix in support of First Lady Michelle Obama's fight against childhood obesity. Today, an official video was released that finds B leading a flash mob of kids dancing in the middle of a school cafeteria. According to the New York Times, the video will be played in schools across the country on May 3 as part of a "dance in"

Mama Knows How to Move
I love me some Heather Morris, better known to some of you as Brittany S. Pierce from Glee (which by the way, is my favorite character on the show). Heather was the backup dancer for Beyonce and from this video you'll see why. She's dancing for Esquire's list of 50 Songs Every Man Should Be Listening To!
Here's one of my favorite performances from her on Glee where she was Britney Spears. Sorry about the quality of the video. I tried finding a better one but I think because of copyright issues, there aren't any "real" videos of the show.
Happy 420 From Dearly Departed
The boys over at Dearly Departed unveiled the Higher Living Pack; the collections focal point tee which features DPRTD's version of the Braunstein Brothers' iconic Zig Zag man. The repurposed logo now includes devil horns and the phrase "De Vie Plus Eleve", a rough, french translation of "The High Life". The pack, which also consists of a D logo grinder, cigar splitter, lighter and poster, will be available starting today at High Point Shoes, Aristocrats Boutique, and Dearly Departed's online shop.

Brazilian Blowout Unsafe?
Known as the Brazilian Blowout in the United States, the treatment surfaced around 2005 in Brazil, where a combination of high humidity and a largely mixed-race, curly haired population made for a nation of eager customers. It soon spread throughout North America and Europe.
Available in several brands, the process often contains varying levels of formaldehyde, which has been classified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a probable carcinogen. According to complaints, it has made some stylists cough and reddened the eyes of clients.
When hair-smoothing products containing formaldehyde or methylene glycol are heated, they can release small amounts of formaldehyde gas. The products' safe use is largely dependent on proper ventilation when they are applied.
"We urge customers to exercise caution in using these products," said John Bailey, chief scientist for the Personal Care Products Council."

Princesses on Ice
Last night I took my niece along with my sis-in-law to see Disney's Princesses on Ice. It was super cute and so much fun to see my niece have such a good time. She liked all the princesses but it wasn't until Minnie and Mickey Mouse came out that she went crazy. LOL.

Patrick's Law
If I can stop crying long enough I can maybe explain This handsome boy is Patrick. His human starved him to death, put his nearly lifeless and emaciated body in a plastic garbage bag, then threw him down the garbage chute in a Newark apartment building.
Days later and against all odds, a maintenance man saw the bag moving and discovered Patrick was alive... Barely.
This story has touched millions of people around the world, making Patrick the Poster Puppy for stronger animal abuse legislation.

David Beckham Is A Fantastic Man
The soccer stud graces the cover of the Spring/Summer issue of the semi-annual men's fashion magazine, Fantastic Man. And all I can say is "hello, lover."
