Mabel's On Main

Last night I took the bf out for his pre-birthday dinner, just us two and I've been wanting to try this new spot called Mabel's on Main (it used to be Mabel Murphy's for some of ya'll that remember).

I loved it. Very chic in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, so you know it's trendy. The only con that I have is if you plan on going just for dinner, go earlier than 10. LOL. We had reservations at 9:30 and well by 10:15 the Scottsdale "IT" crowd was already making their presence known. We were sitting in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by all the people. I felt like an animal on display as I devoured my Chicken Lollipop and blue cheese (seriously to die for), while the bf grubbed on bites of filet w/ horseradish (he said it was delish). I recommend getting their probably around 7 so you can enjoy your food.  Also, don't go expecting a huge menu; it is very limited, yet very yummy.

Overall, I had a great time, with a great person, and enjoyed some nice drinks and food.

This is from their website:

Through the front door of Mabel's is our main lounge, where you will be immersed in the grandeur of a lost era. Studded leather seating, intricately embossed tin ceilings and dark wood furnishings are a throwback to times when sophistication and luxury were exclusive to all but a few. You will find our hand-crafted cocktails at your fingertips and a late-night menu at your disposal. The lounge is large enough to lose yourself in, if that is what you desire, yet small enough to feel subdued in an intimate setting.

More E.L.F

I'm telling you, I can't get enough of E.L.F. cosmetics. They are super cheap, yet the makeup itself isn't cheap. Today I received my newest order which consists of their Golden Bronzer for only $3 and it's fabulous.

I also purchased their mineral eyeshadow in Caffeinated which I wore today and I absolutely LOVE!

And their Eye Primer and Liner Sealer which sets your eyeshadow so you don't get the makeup creases along with the liner sealer which keeps your eyeliner from running down your eyes.

All of the above product was only $3 each, but if you subscribe to their website, they send you coupons all the time....the coupon I used for the above product was buy one, get one half off. I seriously spent barely $14 and I got like 6 things.

I also got their Natural Nymph lipstick... I've always worn Angel or Snob by MAC to give me that "natural", but I wanted something a little more nude, so I went with ELF's Natural color and I wore it today and I have to say, I'm impressed. So now, I'm going back online and buying like 3 more colors.

I just found out they now have cream eyeliner....I can't wait to use it. I'll let you know what I think when I buy it. I just received my product today and I'm already placing another order. They're having a sale right now....the buy one get one half off! Hurry, sale ends Oct. 4th. Happy shopping!

Movies In The Park

Ever since I watched Jennifer Lopez in the Wedding Planner in the scene where they're watching a movie in the park, I've always wanted to do that. Well fortunately enough, I found two places (so far) that shows movies in the park. Kiwanis Park in Tempe and the Biltmore Fashion Park. Kiwanis is aimed for family night only showing G rated movies. Whereas the Biltmore is catered to the grown-ups. Check out the movies they'll be playing below.

Kiwanis:

Biltmore: Enjoy classic and favorite American films under the stars every Friday night at 7:30 p.m. on the Center Lawn.
This season's movie lineup is:
October 1 – Funny Face
October 8 – Raiders of the Lost Ark
October 15 – The Seven Year Itch
October 22 – Chinatown
October 29 – Young Frankenstein
November 5 – Bye Bye Birdie
November 12 – North by Northwest
November 19 – The Great Gatsby
November 26 – no movie
December 3 – American Graffiti
December 10 – Holiday Inn
December 17 – Scrooged

New Fav Eyeliner

I was strolling the isle of Target when I spotted some eyeliner from Maybelline; I thought it's only $7, why not?! I used it this whole week and I am absolutely in LOVE! Love it more than the MAC Fluidline.

The gel formula is richly pigmented and hold more color than the traditional liquid liner. It glides on beautifully, unlike the pencil counterpart that I swear pulls the crap out of my eyelid! The brush (which is included) is thin tipped but gathers generous amounts of gel liner. Available in four shades: Blackest Black, Brown Charcoal, and Eggplant.

Don't Drink & Drive

Watch & Learn!

This is so inspirational. An 11 year old boy, Tyler Wilson, got bullied for being a cheerleader, but won't back down. Stand your ground little man...you have people rooting for you.

Shakira Shakes It On Letterman

I love the way Shakira dances! Check her out on David Letterman performing her new song, Loca. The best part is at the end when Dave walks up to talk to her....he was all types of giddy.

Milk Munny

I'm lazy today, so this is straight from the Dearly Departed website! I'm allowed to steal from them...the co-owner is my boyfriend. LOL

"Come join us Friday, October 1st as we kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Milk Munny: A Vinyl Toy Exhibit. Featuring the works of renowned artists (including AZ legends Dumper Foo, Alyisse Tramel, and Joshua Rhodes), the showcase also boasts a Munny designed by the staff of LA’s High Voltage Tattoo. Proceeds from each toy sold will benefit The Keep A Breast Foundation, an organization that is well known for promoting awareness through art events. With sounds by the illustrious DJ M2, the exhibit takes place at Downtown Phoenix’s Monorchid Gallery. For more information on the event, visit www.milkmunny.org."

**Update** - the above paragraph may have been written by a friend over at Fresh Fiends...LOL... either or, just get your asses to the exhibit!

Hova

I don't know why, but this is so dope to me....just seeing jigga man on the cover of Forbes for being one of the richest people. Very well deserved. Jay is one of my favs...and not because I hung out with him a time or two. LOL

I Heart Her More Now

25 things you didn't know about Nicole Richie. They're a little hard to read, but give it a shot. She's so damn cute.

Rolla Coaster x Pharrell Williams

Someone find me this magazine, pronto! It's being given away tomorrow at London Fashion week, and only being sold in the UK as well. Tears!
