Mabel's On Main

Last night I took the bf out for his pre-birthday dinner, just us two and I've been wanting to try this new spot called Mabel's on Main (it used to be Mabel Murphy's for some of ya'll that remember).

I loved it. Very chic in the heart of downtown Scottsdale, so you know it's trendy. The only con that I have is if you plan on going just for dinner, go earlier than 10. LOL. We had reservations at 9:30 and well by 10:15 the Scottsdale "IT" crowd was already making their presence known. We were sitting in the middle of the restaurant surrounded by all the people. I felt like an animal on display as I devoured my Chicken Lollipop and blue cheese (seriously to die for), while the bf grubbed on bites of filet w/ horseradish (he said it was delish). I recommend getting their probably around 7 so you can enjoy your food.  Also, don't go expecting a huge menu; it is very limited, yet very yummy.

Overall, I had a great time, with a great person, and enjoyed some nice drinks and food.

House Of Harlow

This past weekend I celebrated yet another birthday with great friends and great presents. Yes, I know, I'm shallow...I love presents and I can't help it. HOWEVER, I never expect anything. LOL.

On Saturday morning I opened my present from the bf to find Nicole Richie's House Of Harlow Sunburst Cocktail Ring as well as, the Crystal Bangle which is trimmed with 14k gold and pyramid-cut crystals for a sparkling finish.  I heart them both, oh and the boyfriend too. LOL.

My Anniversary Gift

I've been wanting a name plate with the BF's name on it, and he gave it to me last night for our anniversary. Woop. It has his name in white gold with black and white diamonds that line the bottom. He said black and white because that's what he and I are..... HAHAHAHAHAHAA

It's Our Anniversary

Today marks the 5th year anniversary of me and my babes. It's been a wild ride to say the least, but there's no one on this planet with whom I would want to take the ride with besides him. Cheers to 5 years down and many more to come.

For Valentines day, the BF surprised me and took me to get the tattoo that I wanted (he designed it...well the saying and the rose he put on a Christmas gift for me and I loved it). It's on my ribcage. It didn't hurt until the shading part. Thanks for a memorable Valentines day, boo!

All I Want For Christmas Is....

My boyfriend. Seriously, he is the best boyfriend in the entire world. Just when I think he can't do anything else romantic, he surprises me on Christmas. All his gifts were "Love" themed, so every gift had a gift card that said, "Love...and whatever the gift was"

First up, Love...Heels

Then there was "Love...Comfort (panties, slippers, etc). Love...Songs (mixtape he created), Love...Abstract (Pic of himself holding a sign he made using magazine letters that says "You Must Love...Me), Love...Actually (Pic of us), Love...Wine (wine rack). You get the picture. It was absolutely romantic and I will never forget this Christmas. EVER!

Since I will be at work and in school all day tomorrow, I won't be able to get on to give my thanks, so I'm going to do it now.

Happy Birthday to Me... LOL

So yesterday was my 31st birthday.....eeeeeeek! I can NOT believe I'm 31. It's scary, yet I'm actually looking forward to the next chapters in my life. My twenties were great, but I have a feeling my 30's will be better. The boyfriend did real good. At midnight on my actual birthday, he walked into the bedroom with a cake, champagne, strawberries and my present. Which was a ring!!!! Don't go getting all excited, it wasn't an engagement ring, but definitely a step in that direction. The next morning, he made me breakfast (scrambled eggs w/ cheese, hashbrowns, turkey sausage, toast, and mimosas...mmm) and he had fresh flowers in a vase on the table. He also got me a vintage Gucci watch. I'm not trying to "show off" all my gifts (well maybe a little), but I'm more so showing off my boyfriend and how even though at times he seems grouchy, he's the best boyfriend, EVER! I love you baby love!

It Never Rains in Southern California...

Last weekend, the BF, my dad, and I all jumped in the car and headed to Cali for the weekend for my cousins wedding. I had so much fun...all my cousins and relatives danced the night away on the dance floor and I was even able to dance with my dad. I have NEVER seen him dance to fast songs before. It was hilarious. He was doing the air guitar all over the place.


And what topped off my night was my babes slowed dance with me. This is a huge step in our relationship. LOL.

On Sunday, we headed down to the beach to steal some kaiaks but that didn't go according to plan. My younger cousin (keep in mind, she's still 20) got angry and kicked a rose bush.... and guess who won? The rose bush... lmao. Never fight a rose bush.. the thorns will attack you. Lets just say there was some blood and screaming. LOL.



Anyway, it was good times all around and forgot how much I missed my family out there. Thank you to everyone. We heart you.

Oldie But Goodie

I just got my Buns of Steel DVD in the mail today. So excited. I remember doing this vhs tape when I was in high school... and then vcrs became a thing of the past, and my tape was no more. But I found the dvd online and ordered it. There's nothing spectacular about any of the exercises, it's all 1980 leg lifts, but shoot, if all those women could wear high-waisted leotards, then I know they're doing something right. No thanks to the bf though who was laughing the whole time I was doing the video.

Happy Love Day

The bf is out of town this weekend, so we celebrated Valentines Day a few days early. Last night, I surprised him with this fancy ass meal..consisting of sun-dried tomato pesto with basil and goat cheese stuffed in chicken and then coated with Italian bread crumbs on a bed of mashed sweet potatoes and green beans. Seriously, I have to pat myself on the back because that ish was to die for. I also got him a few of his goodies that I know he likes and we popped a bottle of champagne (cheap of course, people are broke these days. LOL). And to my surprise, I got home today and there was a package waiting for me...kudos to my thoughtful bf. I heart you baby!

Work Party

My company always has their "Holiday" party after the holidays. At first I used to think this was a little ghetto, but now I love it. It gives me something to look forward to after the holidays. It was this past Saturday night. And I really need to apologize to my babes.. I kind of ignored him on Saturday night... I wasn't exactly the best date. I kept leaving him and talking to people. Sorry my love. You're the greatest boyfriend...such a sport. I love you.

Fatburger

One of my favorite places to eat is Fatburger because they offer a turkey burger (ya'll know I don't eat beef)..the bf and I went on Saturday night and well the bf pointed out that I am a messy ass eater. I've known subconsciously that I make a mess, but it wasn't until he pointed it out that I realized, that no matter what I eat, I either spill it, or the food is everywhere other than the plate. I know I'm a girl, but I mean BUSINESS when it comes to eating. LOL!

I got the bf a wii for Christmas and we spent all of new years kickin some ass on the wii. The bf might be a little mad I posted this pic, but ish is hilarious! Oh yeah, don't be laughing at our small tv either. LOL

More Presents...

The bf and I had our Christmas last night...and he was way to generous and good to me. I think he went overboard, but I have to admit, I love everything I got. Again I forgot my camera to upload all my pics, but here are a few from my phone camera.

Zoo Lights

The bf and I wanted to get into the holiday spirit so we headed to zoo lights on Saturday night. Word of advice, don't go on a Saturday night, ish is mad busy. Or if you do, go around 8:30'ish...that way most of the parents are taking the kids home by then so the park is a little less crowded. I absolutely loved it and it was a very romantic date night with my love.

Holiday Party

The bf's Holiday party was this past Friday night at Dave & Busters. We ate, we drank, we played games, and we won 1700 tickets (well the bf did, but what's his is mine right? LOL). The pics are a Little crappy, but you get the jist.
