Just Say No To Movies!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm not a big fan of the movies....I hate the crowds and the people eating all up in your ear (the last time I went, some lady was eating an apple right next to me! Who does that? It was all crunching in my ear, ugh), so I try to stay away from opening weekends, or holiday weekends. So instead, I create my own movie night thanks to the Dollar Store, minus the movie. Although, you can get movies at RedBox, Netflix, or where I like to go, FYE and get them used for hella cheap.

To Die For

The reduced fat banana chocolate chip loaf from Starbucks is one of the best things I have ever eaten. Seriously it's a little bit of Heaven. But don't let the "reduced-fat" fool you, that shit has 390 calories in it. Holy Hell Batman, that's a lot. NY just passed a law where all food chains have to post how many calories everything is in clear site....I think that's a great idea, because even though I won't give up the banana chocolate chip loaf all together, it will stop me from getting one every day. LOL.

Chocolate Lovers

Historic Downtown Glendale will be a chocolate lover’s paradise Feb. 6-8, as the 14th annual Glendale Chocolate Affaire celebrates with music, romance and an abundance of that sinfully delicious confection, as well as free admission and free parking!

Chocoholics will delight in the three dozen chocolate purveyors, discovering everything from chocolate-covered potato chips to chocolate chile pecans to goat milk fudge.

The Chocolate Affaire is sponsored by Arizona’s famous candy makers, Cerreta’s. The candy factory will offer tours all weekend, so visitors can get a behind-the-scenes look at how the chocolatiers create everyone’s favorite candy.

So, what goes better with chocolate than romance? The festival has become the largest gathering of national romance novelists in the Southwest. This symposium of literary romantics offers fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with authors, as well as the chance to attend free writing workshops given by the experts.

Families with children will enjoy myriad activities, including hands-on arts and crafts, face-painting and a rock-climbing wall. Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available throughout the weekend to take couples or families on a scenic, charming ride through the historic Catlin Court district.

Event hours are Friday 5 - 10 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m. The event is located in the heart of Historic Downtown Glendale, in Murphy Park, located at 58th and Glendale avenues.

Pink Spot Ice Cream

A new ice cream shop opened in the valley a few months back and has brought the taste of Hawaii with them. Julie Kossak and Mark Weeter opened a Zpizza four years ago and recently opened Pink Spot Ice Cream, a local shop that specializes in a super premium ice cream with Hawaiian influences. Take for example:

...we all scream for frozen yogurt. A new frozen yogurt shop has opened up in Tempe. Last month, Tempe welcomed Yogurtini, the area's one-of-a-kind, self-serve frozen yogurt joint. They offer 10 featured frozen yogurt flavors and over 50 toppings.

I Want Candy

Dylan Lauren - She's the owner of what may be the largest candy shop in the world. And she's Ralph Lauren's daughter. The 30-something is known for pioneering a concept that brings together art, fashion and candy.

I have been on her website all morning and am wanting everything she sells. Since today is a rainy day here in the valley, I thought this was suitable!

Madame Chocolat

What girl doesn't love chocolate? And what guy wouldn't want a chocolate mold of their girls' goodies? On a recent episode of The Girls Next Door, Kendra, Holly, and Bridgette all got chocolate molds of their private areas to give to their now ex-boyfriend, Hugh Hefner! Seriously how dope is that? LOL. And if you're not up for that kind of thing, they do sell regular chocolate as well. LOL. Looks pretty tasty!

Peppermint Shake

I'm a sucker for food especially ice cream or shakes. And this is the season where everyone will be adding pumpkin, gingerbread, or my favorite, Peppermint flavoring's to all their shakes and coffees. Chick-Fil-A has jumped on the trend and now they offer Peppermint Chocolate Chip Hand-Spun Milkshakes. OMG, I'm dying over here.
