In previous posts, I've mentioned that on the soap I watch, One Life to Live, they finally have a gay couple: Kyle Lewis and Oliver Fish (aka Kish) played by actors Brett Claywell and Scott Evans. The story line followed the young men around having one of them come out of the closet; the duo even had onscreen sexy sexy time. It was a huge break through in daytime TV, and it saddens me to say that ABC has put the axe on the couple saying that the reason they're cutting them is because they weren't popular with the "mainstream" audience; however we know what that means....older, ignorant bigots were complaining. Instead of fast-forwarding their DVR's they kept complaining until ABC heard them. Well now it's our turn to complain.....this isn't about just some TV show, this is about EQUAL RIGHTS! I don't know about you but I'm pissed off. First they say gays can't marry and now they're saying they can't be put on TV??! It's time for change. Even though you may not watch the soap, it's the principal....so please, sign the petition and make your voices heard. Here are a few websites to check out:
